Juice Fast day 2 & 3

Day three: It is snowing. It has been snowing all day…. I made a big pot of fresh veggie miso soup. It was fantastic. Between my juicing I had my soup.

I have decided that for my true three day juice cleanse I will wait until I have three days off in a row and also wait until the weather is a bit warmer. All of my juice has been delicious. Pineapple, mango, kale, parsley, carrot….etc. I even put some garlic in my juices.

My daily morning juice will commence as usual and as for a juice cleanse: I highly recommend anyone, who is able, to dabble and experiment as I am doing!

Cheers:}

Juice Fast day 1

Today was great.
We had our morning juice, mid morning kombucha, lunch juice, mid-aftermnoon juice and a dinner smoothie. Throughout the day I had plenty of water w/cayenne pepper & lemon juice. It is 6:30 right now. Around 6:00 I felt very hungry. Although I tried hard to read about why juice fasting is so good for us to inspire me- I broke it and had some of my delicious cabbage salad. So I did not do a complete liquid fast but I feel great.

I plan on following the same schedule tomorrow. Maybe Ill have a very light dinner like miso soup. I know that I would like to do a complete juice fast in the future and I’m very happy to be teetering with the idea. I do know one thing: I want to only put good whole foods into my body. Possibly a juice fast one day once a month or so? Im not sure what the exact timing will be but I can see how a cleanse can realign the body.

Juice Fast

Tomorrow my husband and I are going to embark on a juice cleanse. I am going to try a three day cleanse. Kyle is opting for the one day cleanse. We went to whole foods and bought a plethora of veggies and fruit. I am so excited:}

I wrote down a three day itinerary of my juices and smoothies. I will track my progress and write down how I am feeling.

Thank you to my brother in law for inspiring this exciting time:}

In my drawers I stored kale, spinach, carrots and pears.

Step by step kombucha

Jack Lalanne’s meal plan

Homemade kombucha step by step

I’m feeling more and more confident with my brewing techniques and I am loving my kombucha! here goes:}

The other night I brewed my tea for a new batch of kombucha. I use about 16 cups of water, let the water boli then add, 2 cups sugar {any nice sugar I find on sale} and 5 black organic tea bags {from whole foods}. Then I let the tea sit all night, covered, so it becomes room temp.

Next I prep my bottles. I set them all up on a nice towel to catch spillage.

Then I get my kombucha that is ready 2 be put in bottles. {My kombucha brews two weeks and maybe a few days}.

Take out SCOBY and place him in a clean glass bowl and stir your kombucha.

Cover scobs with enough kombucha so he looks comfortable:}

I like to stir kombucha one more time before I poor it out into the bottles. Yes FIZZ!!!!

Get out measuring tools {or wing it}.

I put in 1/4 cup of juice. Today I did blueberry and acai!!! YUMM

1/4 cup in each bottle

I use my bigger measuring cup to poor kombucha into bottles.

I rinse out my jar that is now empty and poor in the new tea that is room temp.

Take scoby from glass bowl and put him in his new batch of tea. Poor the kombucha that you used to cover him in the new batch right on top of scobs.

Get a new clean cloth {I use old tee-shirts} and cover your new batch.

I make sure I keep a little sign with the date of when I started new batch in front of my kombucha.

I leave my bottles out for a day or so and then put them in fridge:}

Have fun with your kombucha brewing! Also don’t ever touch scoby with metal -it somehow kills your scobs.

Cheers to a happy kombucha day!

Closet Organization

I need organization in my life. I have peace when there is order. I also like things around me being bright and fun:} This goes for every part of my home including my closet. I was so tired of looking at my hangers that were a hodge-podge of colors and sizes.

I decided to go to the container store for some ideas. I found a big box of all pink and green hangers {there were other colors as well}. I switched the hangers and donated my old ones.

Now my closet feels more fun, bright and peaceful:} Thank you container store for actually having fun and bright colors!
