I have heard many people say that they have bags for grocery shopping but they always forget them. Here is my system for remembering my bags…
I keep my bags by the front door.
When I go out to my car I see my bags and bring them to the car. I always keep them behind my seat.
If you need the room behind your seat and need to put your bags in the trunk, you can make a pretty sign and post it on your dashboard to remind you that your ‘bags are in the trunk’. My problem is that if I didn’t see them I might forget!
I go shopping, bring them home and put everything away.
When all groceries are away I put my bags back by the front door.
If you need to make signs to remember your bags do it! Make yourself a system and figure out how you can sustain that system. This is a serious issue. This is a small step we can take to help plastic bags be a thing of the past.

Recycle Reuse Rejoice!
Many of us need a place for gift bags, ribbons and gifts to give. I dedicated the inside of one of my benches for this very function. I generally do not buy wrapping paper because it’s only use is to become garbage so I usually reuse tissue paper.
The left side of the bench is where I keep gift bags and tissue paper that I will reuse.
I keep a shoe box in the middle to divide the bench. In the shoe box are ribbons, bows or anything decorative. In the next box I keep small gift bags or boxes that I can reuse. To the very right of the bench I keep small gift items that I will or could give as a gift.
Get creative with your gift giving. My friend Mary gave me a gift in a plain brown bag but over the name of whatever bag it was she cut out pink pretty hearts and taped them over the name. It was so pretty and unique. So for my friends baby shower I took the same bag and cut out two blue hearts and put them over the name on the bag. It was so pretty! That was a great idea Mary:}

Reusable Produce Bags
I always bring my own reusable bags to the grocery store. Although that makes me feel good, I was still using those long thin plastic bags from the store for my produce. I knew I needed a solution! I found these great netted bags on amazon for a great price. You can reuse them over and over and even wash them. Now I go shopping and come home with no extra “baggage.” Love it!
